From the Spring/Summer 1979 collection, these Thierry Mugler sunglasses debuted on the season's runway. These sunglasses feature a rectangular lens with a wide arched frame shape. Versions of these well documented sunglasses were also highlighted on Yvonne Sporre in a 1979 editorial in Dépêche Mode, captured by Yvonne Sporre. This style of sunglasses was highlighted in another Dépêche Mode editorial that same year. An identical clear version were also included in an image for the May 1979 Issue of Vogue Paris, modeled by Linda Hutton and captured by Albert Watson.
