According to Ford, this collection was meant to be cleaner than the previous season, which is remembered for its heavy use of beading and bright prints. Sleek designs communicated the signature Gucci flash through luxurious fabrics, fur, and exotic hides rather than embellishments. Ford reintroduced the classic Jackie bag with contemporary updates for the previous season. The signature piston lock changed to a flattened, rectangular piston with a new buckle to match.
